Violinist Andrea Weber Steckly enjoys a varied performance and teaching career. She has a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Music in Performance degree from the University of Western Ontario. She also studied briefly in Cincinnati and Vienna. As a performer, Andrea has played with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra on occasion, the K-W Musical Productions pit orchestra, and a variety of freelance situations in the local and surrounding communities. Although she has a wide range of experiences performing in the “classical” style, she is also involved in diverse styles of church music (notably, she was a member of the music worship band for Mennonite World Conference in Paraguay in 2009), sometimes rosins up her bow to fiddle at square dances, and she also plays her 6-string electric violin in several classic and celtic rock bands. At present she resides in Kitchener, Ontario, with her husband, where she has a private music studio. |
